It will be able to take a significant slice of the browsers market pie, but will beat Firefox or IE? Well, it is definitely a yummy option for the hundreds of millions of Google users who will be prompted to install it through a web search results page, or any of the several Google products. This will of course impact Firefox and IE, but then users will really decide that. Will they compete? Will they merge? Will Firefox fade like Netscape did? Or will users simply reject chrome?

The web only benefits of more and more competition but my concern in the long term is: where do Google stop?

Who does not know the name Google? Who has never used a tool from Google? Who! I believe that Google chrome will succeed because it is a very lightweight and fast browser. But honestly I like Firefox because it contains more than a series of very useful add-ons that make the difference for other browsers. I personally do not appreciate the IE but it is also a good browser and certainty that will last a long time yet because do not forget that it is a browser from Microsoft.
    Happy new year

I think they will not compete, because Google, as is mentioned in the text, has millions of users that access to it often since he is a great source of information, and more spectacular as it is search that information in seconds! I think they will eventually merge, but I think both Firefox and the IE will not disappear. I think that Google will never stop because these spiders seeking this information and store ever, but never cease to do so. Even if there is a competition and think about the time being, I think that in reality is not.

the google lanched chrome it will be like the third best browser of the internet,
it will be a great option to those who are tired of IE and firefox.
This creation of the google browser may start a competition to see wich browser it will be the best.
the merging can be an alternative to any of these browsers to its survival.
Google is growing with intelegence in the internet, it has many tools and i hope that never stops.

I think they will compete as the Firefox and IE want to “be”, such as Google, but will merge because they will never get where Google has arrived. Google will never stop, will not disappear because we never stop evolving.

I think that chrome will definitly enter the browsers competition
(and it will be a tough one). The IE is the default one that is incorporated with the OS, the Firefox is the most downloaded browser and the newcommer Chrome has the quickest navigation of all the browsers i’ve tried out and its appearence is appealing. It has a list of the most visited sites (wich comes in handy) and other usefull stuff. Despite all this i think that the common user will not change from Firefox any time soon (people are afraid of change). My conclusions are:
-Firefox will not fade away without a fight
-The competition will only benifit “us”
-Chrome started well in this “browser war”
-And there is no stopping google now… (hehehe).

Being a new bet from the google i think a loot of people will take, ,ust be an impact at the beginnining becase it´s new theing. I dont`t thinkthat firefox should give up becase it´s the most looked browser and has to have straigtto continue alone.

The browser Google promises to renew the idea of a simple Web browser, with a simple layout, with a super manager tabs. Some of the advantages are fast navigation, list of most visited sites and has more space.
